Everything was perfect including the location

Date of Stay Apr 11, 2017

I had never been to New Orleans before and what a perfect introduction to it staying at The Blair House. David has superb customer service and the home is a classic with lots of seating in patios and a well appointed interior. We had everything you could need for a great vacation. Beds were comfortable, it was great to have laundry and wifi and the kitchen certainly had everything, but I think my favorite part was the location - you could walk to The French Quarter or just down the block to a fun funky neighborhood bar (Buffas) with live music and restaurant or a few blocks to Frenchman Street, or just sit on the front veranda and watch the horse drawn carriages come by on their way to the horse barn at night. David even mailed our forgotten clothing back to us which arrived before we did. Can't say enough good things about our experience.

Much better than expected. Loved the front porch. Short walk to French Quarter. Close enough to enjoy the activities, but far enough away to be peaceful. We are later 50's and the walk was easy. The main house was 2 bedrooms and the guest house was an additional one with full living quarters too. We had 6 plus one child and it was perfect in every way. Loved it in every way, especially the off street parking!!!

What a wonderful experience is to be had at the Blair House! Everything wee needed was provided. Service/communications was excellent and prompt. The location is perfect, just a few short blocks from all the action (and our new favorite restaurant, Horns). Very safe and quiet. We'll be back someday! Highly recommended!

I was pleased and surprised at every turn at the responsiveness and accommodating nature of David Blair. The house is beautiful and has every amenity that you could desire. The location is superb and we walked almost everywhere- to include jazz on Frenchmen St., and all over the French Quarter and area. It was very easy to reach David, and he responded quickly and thoroughly. When there was a glitch with the front door knob, he rushed to remedy that with a brand new one. I would recommend this to anyone- the neighborhood is very nice too! We would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to New Orleans!

We are a family of 6 (3 couples) celebrating a 40th wedding anniversary. The location and amenities of Blair House could not be more perfect! We were at home from the moment we arrived. David was generous with info and recommendations. We were seeking the "Treme" experience , and we enjoyed every minute. Walked, took the trolley, and used Uber for further excursions. Quiet neighborhood, so close to all the music!!

We love NOLA and have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and this was by far the BEST experience we've had. The property is just lovely- nicely appointed, clean, perfect location, and the owner is wonderful to work with. David patiently answered all of our questions and provided an exceptional experience. The house is so convenient to absolutely everything you could possibly want in New Orleans - without any of the negatives you find when staying right in the quarter. Walkability was key for us and this location was perfect - great food, entertainment, sight-seeing, you name it. And, the furnishings are top-notch (and that's saying something because I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to bed quality) - this has not always been the case in some of the rentals we've used. I believe we've found our regular location - for as long as he's willing to share with the rest of the world. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

This is a very nice place. What a awesome place , we enjoyed our stay. There was 3 couples all together from Mid-Missouri. We enjoy the front porch, did a lot of people watching early morning and late afternoons. Was a nice little walk to Port of call, and the Buffas bar, Bourbon St and Ruby Slipper. Great food at all 3 places.  We had one of us with a bad knee. That's why we drove a lot. And we all talked and would we stay here again. If we came back to New Olreans. Yes we probably would. It was a very cute place to stay. An David was awesome to work with because we started planning our vacation back in Dec. 2014. Thank you David for allowing us to stay here in your home for our extended weekend.

We rented the house for my wifes 60th birthday and had a blast staying at this awesome house! Easy access to the French Quarter and Bourbon street. We really liked the tree decorated for Memorial day as i am a Veteran . the amenities were awesome and beds very comfortable . We would stay here again in the future. We also were a little late checking out as my daughter changed her flight and failed to tell me in time .David was very understanding as we were all packed and ready to go so thanks again for understanding! Once again the pictures on line do not do this awesome house as we rated it 5 STARS!!

Three of us 55+ world traveler guys stayed for three days and had an excellent time! NOLA is an American gem! Most things about the house were awesome - overall comfort, convenience, location, parking, security, front porch, cost compared to hotels, and quiet neighborhood. I can't stress the terrific things enough.    I'm the pickiest of our group, and if you saw the HBO show Treme, the Blair House is a palace compared to many of the houses on that show! David was very responsive. Didn't read the email carefully enough about how to get in, (our fault), got a quick return call. The misunderstanding was about getting through the gate. There is a gate across the drive, but the gate in the instructions referred to the security door in front of the front door. We thought we'd get in the house and worry about the gate later, so we didn't read the instructions thoroughly enough. The house and apartment were clean .    A funny surprise was the Easter tree with a bunny on top and stuffed bunny on the side! Hilarious! The beds have thick foamy mattresses (on top of regular mattresses) - very soft and pillowy. Good or bad depending on personal preference. Another review mentioned the patio was dirty and covered with leaves. A storm blew through before we got there also, and it was unusable. I was glad not to hear leaf blowers though, and the porch was great!

We were here with another couple for a 3 day get away. The house was awesome! The pics on the web are nice but don't do it justice. Very easy to get to when arriving and entry was a breeze. The house was very clean and in a great location. We walked down to Buffa's the 1st night for dinner, which is just two blocks from house on the corner of Burgundy and Esplanade. Great food and entertainment. Streets are quiet and French Quarters very close. We walked everywhere we wanted to go.....French Market, Decatur, Bourbon, Jackson Square, and so much more. People were very friendly in the neighborhood. We talked with many while having coffee on the front porch in the morning. Kitchen was great. Bathrooms were great. We were all very pleased with staying here. Walking from the house in the Marigany was so wonderful with all the cottage style homes to view. I would advise anyone visiting this city to stay here. There is also a corner grocery just blocks over on Burgundy in the French Quarters.

My husband and I rented with property with my sister and her husband for a little adult vacation. It was perfect. Two bedrooms, very comfortable beds, and two bathrooms made this a great match for us. All the furnishings were very nice and comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked for all of our needs. It was a very easy walk to the French quarter with many restaurants and clubs nearby. The street was a extremely quiet and friendly with a nice sitting area on the front porch for morning coffee. I cannot wait to return!

We spent a week here to celebrate upcoming marriage of my daughter, to see a saints game and to revisit my old stomping grounds from my youth. Walking in the door was amazing! So elegant and beautiful and the owner had left a nice basket of fruits and cheeses and wine for us. We lacked for nothing, everything was fully stocked. THe security gate for the cars was amazing and everything was within walking distance and we walked at all hours of the day and night and were very safe. I would stay in the 2br again with no hesitation at all. And the owner was very easy to work with while making our plans to stay there. Answered many emails from me in a timely manner. This is a great place to stay if you want to be away from the noise, be able to walk to everything and stay in a beautiful spacious 2br home and keep your car off the street to boot. Thank you for making our celebration a wonderful event in your beautiful home!

Four of us enjoyed staying in The Blair House. The owner is the master of understatement ... as this property exceeded all expectations. Not only is it tastefully decorated and secure, it is an excellent location ... close to the vibrant French Quarter, yet just a few blocks away, so that noise is not an issue. The beds were very comfortable, the TVs abundant, the appliances all modern and the dining area made for great end-of-evening cards games. Dare you to find something to improve upon. We couldn't !!

These accommodations were very pleasing to our party of 4, for a 3 night stay. and accurately described in the listing with suitable photos. Instructions for access made everything go smooth. We were drawn by the 'secure parking behind a automatic swing gate and never moved our two vehicles. The features are fully described in the listing so I will only add that there were little surprises of a very positive nature. Comfortable bedding, fully appointed baths, lovely dining area & plush appliances in kitchen. A little too hot to utilize the back courtyard, but we did sit on the raised front porch. Everything was clean and ALL well maintained. Quite close to Esplanade & I-10, and couple neat eating places, about a 12 block walk to the heart of french quarter or the French Market/Jackson Brewery Have already recommended it to several friends and would DEFINITELY stay again.

Hi,thanks David. We stayed for a week ,this is our 12-15 time to NOLA . The location is great ,the house is eclectic but perfect for New Orleans. You don't need a car but the 2 car parking worked well for us as we were visiting son in uptown so we could all work out parking for two cars. this is a short walk to French quarter- without the fr quarter noise, then a quicker walk to Frenchmen st. The projector screen was great for the one night we just wanted to stay in and relax. You won't be disappointed! We will return. Thanks again .

Perfect location

We stayed during the first weekend of jazz fest. The room was comfortable, clean and decorated beautifully. Pat and Greg were perfect hosts. The patio was just outside our door and was great for relaxing. The location is great, quiet street , yet close to all the fun. Walking distance to Jackson square , French quarter and all the awesome restaurants. New Orleans is truly a treasure and this historic B and B is a great find!

Romantic French Quarter Hideaway

We had a wonderful 3 night stay. Greg and Pat could not have been more hospitable and helpful during our visit. The upper room is spacious, beautifully furnished with antiques, and yet contains all the modern conveniences one could want. It's well located and only a short walk to all French Quarter attractions, and yet secluded enough to provide a quite oasis from the crowds. We highly recommend this property!

The Family that Parties Together

Mom, Pop & 21 year old daughter stayed in the Paddlewheel suite for Mardi Gras 2014 until Ash Wednesday and felt very safe and very cozy. There is inside the property parking for small cars. The property is accessible by a short walking distance to fun bars, small deli style places to grab a sandwich and Borbon St. madness! Plenty of extras provided without having to call room service. Pat & Greg Kahn are wonderful host. Immediately upon arrival I wanted to go to my favorite restaurant, Acme Grill so I could get my Oyster fix. Greg drove us there so we could get there before it closed. I look forward to staying there again possibly in the upstairs unit next time. I love NOLA!

This property is in a great location, the owners are very gracious; they will answer any questions you have about the area, the backyard holds a garden/patio/hot tub. Very peaceful and relaxing. The location itself is close to most everything, but still quiet. You can walk to Bourbon Street, have beignets every morning if you want- we truly lived like the locals for our week- we will be back!
